slide scanner QA Recommendations for entry/medium-level Film Scanners needed?

Ill be working with mainly 35mm color and slide films therefore I intend to invest in a 35mm slide scanner.

(Ive tried researching online and only get scanner reviews from 2001-2002 and am guessing theyre most probably outdated) Im using Mac OSX so support for it is most crucial. It has an integrated backlight system, holders for slides, 35mm and medium format film, and comes with Silverfast dust removal software. I have scanned a couple of hundred images at 4800 ppi and never had any quality problems. Although the Epson 4870 (and newer model 4990) is not a dedicated film scanner, it does a great job with film.

This WOT (Web of Trust) business seems to be putting a damper on madbid.coms social interactions as any link from Facebook to the site seems to be blocked by a company thats run in America and have rated the company as scam! By users who are from America!

Madbid.com does not operate in the US so what would these guys know and Ive checked similar websites on the WOTs website and it seems to be the same spam comments across most of the companys featured and the only way to remove these spams is to become a member at a crazy membership fee. The new referral system is interesting you get a personalised link that you can post on popular videos, blogs and other comment boxes and if you get someone t register through your link and buy a package you will get cash for the referrals. Seems like a bargain deal as to post links is as easy as two clicks.
